Edakkad Group of Hotels got its name inspired by the renowned family name of our M.D, Mr T.G.Raghu. After his persistent efforts to build the business in Matchbox manufacturing, sweet production, and pesticide manufacturing segments, he finally found the way to his dream destiny by establishing a business in Kerala Tourism.
In 1987, he started ATDC ( Alleppey Tourism Development Cooperative Society ) with his friends to mark the beginning of success. The 8 hours Alleppey to Quilon motorboat trip, was the first successful mission, followed by the introduction of the first Houseboat in the Kerala tourism industry in 1991. ATDC had been the organizer of many initiatives such as the First Elephant rally in Kerala with 50 elephants, a motorboat rally from Alleppey to Quilon, a snake boat race with 16 snake boats etc. that made our houseboats the heart and soul of Kerala tourism.
Later, our services expanded to resorts in Kerala with an island backwater resort in Alleppey named Coir Village lake resort, in 2000. We further extended our branches to give life to Tea village Hill resort in Munnar, in 2017, and Marari Village beach resort in 2019. Our key focus is to have numerous properties in and across the Kerala tourism destinations like Cochin, Munnar, Alleppey, Thekkady, Kumarakom, Varkala, Kovalam, and Wayanad to serve our guests with pride and affection.

A place where you can reach only through boat, Pathiramanal Island in Alappuzha spread over 10 acres, the place is famous for migratory birds. 1 and half hours by motor boat or 30 min by speed boat, this backwater island lies in between the backwaters of Thaneermukkom and Kumarakom.
